We inspect, repair, program and install irrigation systems for commercial sites, body corporates and homes across Brendale and Moreton Bay. That covers pop-up sprinklers and rotors on lawns, drip lines in garden beds, valves and solenoids, and the controller that runs it all. If your system is leaking, missing areas, watering in the rain or not running at all, we can find the fault and fix it.
Because we also maintain the lawns and gardens, we see irrigation problems early: a dry patch that keeps coming back, a garden bed that's always soggy, a sprinkler knocked sideways by a mower. Looking after the grounds and the irrigation together means those problems get fixed before plants are lost.
What our irrigation service includes
Our irrigation work falls into four types of job:
System inspections
Running every zone, checking coverage and pressure, and looking for leaks, blocked or broken sprinklers, faulty valves and controller problems. You get a list of what we found and what it will take to fix.
Repairs
Replacing broken sprinkler heads and rotors, fixing leaking pipes and fittings, clearing blocked drippers and filters, and repairing or replacing faulty valves and solenoids.
Controller programming
Setting run times and watering days for each zone to suit the season, the plants and the soil, and setting up rain sensors or rain delays so the system doesn't water in the wet.
Controller upgrades
Replacing old or faulty controllers, including Wi-Fi controllers you can adjust from your phone.
New installations
Designing and installing new systems for lawns and garden beds, with the right mix of sprays, rotors and drip line for each area.
Adding zones
Extending an existing system to cover new gardens, turf or landscaping.
Drip irrigation for garden beds
Drip line under mulch, which puts water at the roots, wastes less to evaporation and keeps foliage dry.
Seasonal adjustments
Turning watering up for the dry spring and down for the wet season, as part of regular maintenance visits.
Signs your irrigation needs attention
Most irrigation problems show up in the lawn and gardens first. Call us if you notice:
- Dry, brown patches in an otherwise green lawn
- Soggy areas, puddles or water running down the driveway or footpath
- Sprinklers that spray onto paths, walls or windows instead of the garden
- A zone that doesn't come on, or won't turn off
- The system watering during or straight after heavy rain
- A higher water bill with no obvious reason
- Plants dying in one garden bed while the rest of the garden is fine
Irrigation in the south-east Queensland climate
Watering needs here swing a long way through the year. Late winter and spring are often dry and windy, and gardens can need regular watering. Then the wet season arrives and the same system can be watering soil that's already saturated. A controller that's set once and never changed wastes water for half the year and under-waters for the rest. We adjust programs with the seasons and fit rain sensors so the system pauses when it rains.
Heavy clay soils are common across the Pine Rivers district. Clay takes water in slowly, so long watering cycles often run off before they soak in, especially on sloping blocks. Splitting a watering time into two or three shorter cycles, with a break in between, gets far more water into the root zone.
On commercial sites and in body corporate gardens, sprinkler heads get damaged by mowers, vehicles and foot traffic, and faults can go unnoticed for weeks. Regular checks as part of commercial grounds maintenance or strata grounds maintenance catch these before the landscaping suffers.
How the job works
Tell us what's happening
Call or send the form with your suburb and a description of the problem, or what you'd like installed.
Inspection
We run each zone, find the faults and check coverage, or measure up for a new system.
Written quote
You get a clear list of repairs or a design and price for the new system before any work starts.
Repair or install
We fix the faults or install the system, then test every zone.
Program and hand over
We set the controller for the season and show you how to adjust or pause it.
What affects the price
Irrigation is quoted after an inspection. The price depends on:
Size of the system
The number of zones, sprinklers and metres of drip line.
Type of fault
A broken sprinkler head is a quick fix. Finding and repairing an underground leak or a faulty valve takes longer.
Parts and controller
Sprinklers, valves, fittings and controllers vary a lot in price. We list the parts on the quote.
Installation work
Trenching, lawn and garden reinstatement, and access around established plants all affect new installs.
Water connection
Any work on the mains water connection or a backflow prevention device must be done by a licensed plumber and is quoted separately.
Adding irrigation checks to regular grounds maintenance is usually the cheapest way to keep a system working.
Why choose Brisbane Grounds Co.
We see the whole garden
Because we maintain lawns and gardens too, we spot irrigation problems in the plants before they become expensive.
Programmed for local conditions
Seasonal run times and short cycles for clay soils, not one setting all year.
Commercial and residential
From body corporate gardens and business frontages to premium homes.
Clear quotes

Irrigation FAQs
Do you repair existing irrigation systems?
Yes. We fix broken sprinklers, leaking pipes and fittings, blocked drippers, faulty valves and solenoids, and controller problems on most common systems.
Can you reprogram my irrigation controller?
Yes. We set run times and watering days for each zone to suit the season, your plants and your soil, and can add a rain sensor so it doesn't water in the rain.
Do you install new irrigation systems?
Yes. We design and install systems for lawns and garden beds, using sprays, rotors and drip line to suit each area. We often install irrigation as part of new soft landscaping or turf.
Are you plumbers?
No. Irrigation work after the water supply connection is our job. Work on the mains connection or backflow prevention devices is plumbing work and is done by a licensed plumber.
Is drip irrigation better than sprinklers for garden beds?
Usually, yes. Drip line under mulch puts water at the roots, loses less to evaporation and wind, and keeps leaves dry, which helps reduce fungal problems in humid weather. Lawns still need sprinklers or rotors.
How often should my irrigation be checked?
At least once a year, ideally in late winter before the dry spring, and whenever you notice dry patches or soggy areas. On commercial and strata sites, regular checks as part of maintenance visits work best.
When is the best time to water in summer?
Early morning. Less water is lost to evaporation, and leaves dry during the day, which reduces fungal disease. Watering deeply and less often encourages deeper roots.
Do you service irrigation on commercial and body corporate sites?
Yes. Irrigation checks and repairs can be added to a commercial or strata grounds maintenance scope.
